Cambodian FM Receives Visit from His Burmese Counterpart

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn has received a visit from the Burmese Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin on Tuesday. The visit came after the Burmese Foreign Minister visited Prime Minister Hun Sen in the morning handing out invitation for the Cambodian Prime Minister to visit their country.

Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn expresses, “I am delighted with the arrival of H.E. Wunna Maung Lwin in Cambodia!Honest and candid dialogue is fundamental for diplomacy, and we had the opportunity to do that face to face today. This visit would strengthen our bilateral ties, build mutual trust and understanding, and prepare us to face the common challenges in our region today.”

He has added that as Cambodia Chair the ASEAN in 2022, he discussed a range of issues with the Burmese Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin while assuring him that Cambodia they will do all they can to adhere to the core of the theme – Addressing Challenges Together

Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn concludes, “Cambodia and other ASEAN Member States will help Myanmar to effectively achieve a win-win solution. We are hopeful that the coming visit to Myanmar by Samdech Techo Prime Minister in January will produce fruitful outcomes.”
